Timic Welch:Hi, I am Tim MacWelch and I founded and operate Earth Connection School of Wilderness Survival and Ancient Skills in Fredericksburg, Virginia and this is Hue Hueston, my co-instructor at the school and today we are going to show you how to go camping.

This video clip collection will teach you the foundational skills for camping, like how to put together a camping plan, how to pick a campsite, how to properly set up a tent, how to purify water with a filter and also with purification tablets, how to make a campfire, camp cooking and how to animal proof your food, camping cleanliness, how to go to the bathroom in the woods, camp entertainment, safety equipment that you should always take camping and how to leave no trace. The tools and materials that you need to go the camping are pretty simple. You'll need a tent, a sleeping bag, a sleeping pad, cooking equipment, food, spare clothes and safety items that you should always carry in the woods, like several different ways to make a fire, a knife, a flashlight, maybe even a cellphone. There are several safety issues to consider while you are camping. You could cut yourself while using a knife carelessly, you could accidentally burn yourself, while using fire to cook or boil water and you need to keep your food away from your campsite to discourage animals. I am Tim MacWelch and I founded and operate Earth Connection School of Wilderness Survival and Ancient Skills in Fredericksburg, Virginia. I started Earth Connection in 1997 and ever since then, we've been running a host of outdoor skills classes like Wilderness Survival, Wild Edible Plants and Friction Fire Making. Rick "Hue" Hueston is my co-instructor at our school and we are going to go camping. Let's go.
