How to Pick a Lock

<p>Michael Peterson: Hello! My name is Michael Peterson. I have been working as an independent locksmith in Oak Park, Illinois for the last 10 years. Today I am going to be demonstrating some basic lock picking techniques. For today's demonstration, we will also be picking the following locks. A basic doorknob, a single sided deadbolt, a commercial grade lever. Later on we will also show you how to pick a rim cylinder, a padlock, a cam lock or what is also known as a disk lock and a tubular cylinder lock. For the day's demonstration I will be using the following tools. A tension wrench, a tension tool, a basic pick, a manual pick gun, a flathead screwdriver, a small fill up screwdriver and a tubular lock pick. The information I will be sharing with you today should only be used for legal uses and care should be taken when you are using any type of tool, especially when using it in a lock, as you do not want to damage the lock. Before lock becoming an independent locksmith, I worked as an apprentices for two years, at various lock companies. Let's get started. </p>
